Innovative, engaging and effective training solutions were once again at the center of the annual LTEN Excellence Awards, with this year’s 8th annual honors celebrating some truly creative work.
The awards were given out June 15, 2022, as part of the 51st LTEN Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas. Nearly 1,000 LTEN members attended the annual event and cheered on the winners at the presentation ceremony.
Winners were recognized in categories for both primary market practitioners and for supplier professionals, as well as the Industry Partnership category, which recognizes the teamwork from both sides of that table.
The 2022 LTEN Members of the Year were also announced at the Excellence Awards ceremony, with the practitioner awards going to Monica Gillison and Michael Tomlinson, and the provider awards going to Brad Ansley and Steve Woodruff.
This year’s winners, finalists and nominees were all invited to submit posters detailing their award-worthy work for the annual Poster Session at the LTEN conference. You can view the posters here in this issue and also on the LTEN website at www.L-TEN.org/2022-award-poster-presentations.
Before you review the innovative work, here is a quick look at this year’s winning LTEN members. Congratulations to them all:
- Emerging Leaders (practitioner) – Barbara Pattullo of Genentech, for empowering her team to strive for excellence.
- All-Star Teams (practitioner) – The National Field Meeting Revamp Team, Teva Pharmaceuticals, for revitalizing the annual field meeting.
- Training for Change (primary market) – Biogen, for creating a global training process with local flexibility.
- Non-Commercial Training Efficiency (practitioner) – Emmes & Casimir, for developing a novel outcome measure for clinical research.
- Innovation (practitioner) – Philips, who elevated and evolved sales representative communications.
- Innovation (provider) – Attensi, for sharpening product knowledge through gamified training, and CMR Institute, for innovating ways to customize off-the-shelf content.
- Learning Content (provider) – Illuminate, for developing a comprehensive, multifaceted launch curriculum.
- Industry Partnership (provider & practitioner) – Barco & Nipro, for enabling remote learning and interactivity for medical training, and Encompass Communications and Learning & Teva Pharmaceuticals, for championing teams to help advance women in healthcare.
- Field Trainer Scholarships – Heather Anderson of Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, who built a job aid for future leadership development, and Tony Gaulke of Bristol Myers Squibb, who has a proven track record of leadership, innovation and success.
- The 2022 Chuck Pearson Learning Scholarships – a new program named in honor of the late LTEN Board of Directors member – went to Vishal Shah of Biogen, for creating a global experiential learning opportunity, and Todd Rogers of Takeda Pharmaceuticals, who leveraged considerable creative skills to elevate learning.
