We’re planning a few 2023 highlights to share
Well, 2023 is here and if you are like me, it’s hard to believe that we have passed another calendar year. I imagine that you— again, like me — will spend a little time reflecting on the year completed and looking forward to the year ahead.
Notice I’m not using the word resolutions — that’s a whole other subject.
I hope as you reflect that you can see many positives in the last year, both in a professional and a personal way. I reflect on 2022 as a year in which I continued to learn about the value of my LTEN connections, developed new skills and was blessed to see my family in a happy place. It’s hard to ask for more.
Professionally, I reflect on how LTEN once again served our members in an impactful way! We delivered 45 webinars, reaching more than 4,300 life sciences training professionals. LTEN
Focus on Training magazine delivered 10 issues.
There’s much more. We enhanced member involvement by expanding our committee structure, grew the corporate members program and — most importantly — went back to live, in-person events. We held networking mixers, certificate programs, the Learning Executive Forum think tank program and the51st LTEN Annual Conference. Happily, all of this has been embraced by you, our members.
The #LTEN2022 conference, for instance, was a great event with 886 of you attending. We as a network are blessed with strong support from our supplier community and they did not disappoint: All of the exhibit space at the conference was spoken for.
Who needs resolutions when things are going so well?
So enough about the great 2022 we all experienced; let’s move on officially to2023. We have a few highlights of our 2023 plans to share:
- With this issue, Focus is expanding to a monthly periodical. Look for the digital magazine in your inbox 12 times this year! (I hope you checked our LTEN Board President Richard Sampson’s column on Page 4 with hints on how you can help.)
- Focus is also introducing a new feature, a monthly section designed to prepare you for the 2023 conference, www.LTENconference.com. We’ll highlight all the information you need to make the most of the conference and, as always, make it easy for you to get involved. Check out the first installment here.
- We’re expanding our Learning Leader content, to further engage our leaders and aspiring leaders in the network. Feel free to connect with me on any “should haves, must haves or nice to-haves” we can help with in terms of leadership and pipeline development.
- There’s so much more, some of which we’ll talk more about as events draw nearer. As always, keep your eye on the LTEN website at www.L-TEN.org and our always changing
Events Calendar. - You’ll see some exciting new changes to our conference program and the LTEN Excellence Awards. We’ll continue to connect with you both in person and virtually and we’re always exploring ways to make your LTEN experience better. Have something to sayon that? Please do share with me.
OK, maybe we do need a group resolution. I hereby resolve to do my best to support, build and extend our professional network with the goal of helping all LTEN members grow professionally. Who’s going to join me in that mission?
For this year’s conference, we selected the theme Focus Forward, and I think it applies to all our 2023 plans as well. Through the conference, through these pages and in all we do, we want to ensure you are developing skills and thinking with a forward-facing mindset. In the end, you’ll be your best you, and make the most of life sciences training and education.
