The Future of Learning
LTEN Talks – By Tim Sosbe
The LTEN Connect event will bring top-notch, interesting, innovative ideas to the stage, to help educate and inspire members. This year, the LTEN Talks continue that trend, with two speakers focusing on education and delivery methods. You won’t want to miss these speakers.
Kelly Palmer
Kelly Palmer will continue her work with LTEN leaders and members with a 30-minute LTEN Talks presentation spotlighting the future of learning. Palmer previously worked with attendees of the LTEN Learning Executive Forum in November 2019, and in January 2020 she delivered a webinar for LTEN members.
Palmer is the chief learning officer for Degreed, and previously headed learning for companies like LinkedIn, Yahoo and Sun Microsystems. For her presentation, Palmer will share information and insights on where learning is headed and will inspire LTEN members to help realize the high-tech vision.
Michael Ioffe
Michael Ioffe is the cofounder of Arist, the first text message learning platform, which was named one of the Fast Company’s 2019 World-Changing Ideas. He created TILE.org, the world’s largest conversation series with 430 locations in 50 countries.
In 2018, Ioffe was struggling to teach students in a war zone halfway across the globe. The problem? The conflict had cut off access to both the internet and the local school system, leaving students with few options for learning. In this talk, Ioffe will walk through his unlikely journey developing the first text message course, initially as a last resort to make learning accessible. Using research and case studies, Michael will explain how text message courses evolved from a bare-bones learning tool to a robust medium now used by humanitarian organizations and Fortune 500 companies alike. He will also share his vision for the future of nanolearning, an emerging class of learning formats that are hyperaccessible, interactive and fully embedded into the day-to-day lives of learners.
Be sure to stay for the very end of LTEN Connect 2020, to learn and experience all the event has to offer.
