The Practitioner Finalists: Excellence Everywhere

With the number of incredible entries in the LTEN Excellence Awards growing each year, it’s getting increasingly difficult for judges to determine winners. This year was more of the same, with award deserving work in every category.

It’s an honor to recognize the innovative, groundbreaking, memorable work produced by the finalists in the 6th annual LTEN Excellence Awards.
Let’s meet the finalists in the practitioner categories.
All-Star Teams
The 2020 finalists are:
- The Abbott EP Education team, which partnered with customers to raise knowledge levels in technical applications of training.
- The Americas’ Commercial Training Team for Baxter International, which utilized a unique coaching tool across multiple markets.
- Novartis Market Access and Patient Specialty Services, which reached across boundaries to provide world-class learning
- The SK Training Team with SK Life Science, which built company engagement aligned with product training.
Emerging Leaders
The 2020 finalists were:
- Jerad Abbott, AbbVie, who brings to the table a clear vision of what he wants to accomplish.
- Andria Cox of Sanofi thinks beyond training to encompass the learner experience.
- Amanda Harris created an innovative global training strategy at Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices.
- Tiffani Higgins of Teva Pharmaceuticals led in a challenging work environment involving corporate relocation.
Training for Change
The 2020 finalists were:
- The Commercial Training & Development Team, Teva Pharmaceuticals, which led development initiatives during a corporate relocation.
- Missy Lay, Grifols, who delivered cross-training while keeping representatives in the field.
- Barbara Pattullo of Genentech, who met time pressures for seasonal product training.
- The Sandoz Team, which built a comprehensive program to combine business units.
Innovation
The 2020 finalists were:
- John Broadwell of Biohaven deployed a digital coach to support learning.
- Katrina Church of Merz North America employed an escape room to support compliance training.
- Lauren Griffey integrated a technology launch for a home study program at Jazz Pharmaceuticals.
- Gilbert Marchany III used augmented reality for a yearlong approach to gamification at AbbVie.
- Sarah Pinson developed an easy-to-access portal for training for a product launch for UCB.
