Time to Shine and Share
DIRECTIONS – Dawn Brehm
Think about 2019 being the year you share your time and get more involved.
As 2018 comes to a close for the LTEN community, we share a spirit of excitement for what lies ahead. We have much to celebrate as we say goodbye to 2018, and it starts with a toast to all members. Your support for the growth of LTEN has led to the most members ever, the largest number of annual conference attendees and numerous innovations, such as a live broadcast of the LTEN Excellence Awards.
Of course, in the life sciences business, looking back is not where we dwell; we are a fast-moving industry characterized by looking forward. LTEN operates just like you – always moving forward.
It is now time to share – something LTEN members graciously do well: The call for workshops for the 2019 LTEN Annual Conference is now open. Members sharing ideas and innovations with fellow members is what makes our conference so valuable to attendees, and the conference does not happen without your submissions. Those selected to present go through a peer-review selection process, ensuring that the LTEN conference provides the most innovative and relevant content. Go to www.LTENconference.com to learn more about submitting your workshop and speaking proposal for the LTEN Annual Conference.
It is also time to shine! The LTEN Excellence Awards call for entries is open, recognizing the best and brightest in the life sciences learning industry. Awards are given to both life sciences company employees and supplier partners. There are seven categories of awards to apply for, and winners will be featured in person from the stage at the annual conference, with the ceremony broadcast live. In addition, winners are recognized in a digital issue of LTEN Focus on Training magazine and featured on the LTEN social media channels. Think now about the best work from you and your colleagues and apply for an LTEN Excellence Award. Go to www.LTENconference.com/awards to find an application.
In addition to the Excellence Awards, LTEN is also accepting nominations for Member of Year and the LTEN Hall of Fame, both prestigious recognitions in our industry. The LTEN Board reviews and votes on all applications in these two special categories. Know someone who has gone above and beyond for LTEN or the industry? Learn more about the criteria and nominate them now at www.LTENconference.com/awards.
Think about 2019 being the year you share your time and get more involved in your LTEN. The annual conference and Excellence Awards both present opportunities to join committees and help review workshop and award applications. The work of a network like LTEN is influenced by the input of members, so you can shape what you see at the annual conference. Aside from these, LTEN offers a plethora of committees you can join and be involved. Go to www.L-TEN.org/volunteer to raise your hand to participate.
Finally, for many of you, it’s time to renew your LTEN membership, and the first of the year is a good time to make sure you’re set for another year (or more!) of the year is a good time to make sure you’re set for another year (or more!) of learning, networking and sharing. LTEN is now offering discounted three-year membership rates, so you can also lock in your place in our network for maximum savings by visiting www.L-TEN.org/join.
There’s so much to celebrate and so much to look forward too! Goodbye 2018 and hello 2019! It’s time to shine and time to share!
