Lauren Harbert to Lead LTEN Team as Executive Director

Jan. 4, 2023 – Lauren Harbert has been named as the new LTEN executive director. Harbert will assume the role on Jan. 16, 2023, from Dawn Brehm, who is retiring but who will work with Harbert during her onboarding period in the new role.

Harbert has more than 10 years’ experience in the non-profit sector and most recently served as the vice president of operations for CMR Institute, a longstanding partner to LTEN.

“I am honored and very excited to join LTEN as the executive director,” Harbert said. “I am thankful to Richard, Dawn and the Board for their support and confidence in me.  LTEN has grown exponentially and celebrated many successes over the last 52 years, and I look forward to working closely with the Board of Directors, Preferred Industry Partners, staff and members to write the next chapter of success.”

Harbert earned her degree in accounting from Emory & Henry, where she played collegiate volleyball. She enjoys coaching youth volleyball and volunteering in the local elementary school. She resides on Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia with her husband, Guy, and two children, Sophie and Bodie.

”Lauren is going to be a dynamic leader for LTEN, and I know she’ll be a valuable resource for our Board, all LTEN volunteers and every member,” said Richard Sampson, president of the LTEN Board of Directors. “Dawn Brehm set a high standard as executive director, and Lauren will continue to build on that in her new role. Lauren is familiar with all we’ve done and her drive, commitment, vision and talent will help LTEN thrive in our changing industry and business environments. We’re thrilled to be welcoming her to this key role.”
