Roanoke, VA, Friday, April 5, 2024 – Capping its 2024 Awards Announcement Week, LTEN today announced the finalists for the 10th Annual LTEN Excellence Awards, the recipient of this year’s Field Trainer scholarship program, inductees into the LTEN Hall of Fame and the LTEN Members of the Year.
The LTEN Excellence Awards will be handed out at a special ceremony on Wednesday, June 12, part of the 53rd LTEN Annual Conference, taking place June 10-13 in Kissimmee, Fla. The awards recognize innovative and inspiring work from life sciences training professionals at pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and diagnostics companies (“practitioners”) and the strong support, innovation and creativity of training industry partners (“providers”).
This year’s LTEN Excellence Awards will be given in 11 categories, all aligned around people, partnerships and processes & programs. New or rebranded categories this year recognize excellence in leadership development, innovative solutions, measurement & impact, wellness, community & culture. There’s also a new “All-Star Teams” category specifically spotlighting training teams of five people or less.
Included in this year’s main-stage honors at #LTEN2024 will be an induction ceremony for three new LTEN Hall of Fame members, a presentation to this year’s scholarship recipient and recognition of the 2024 LTEN Members of the Year.
Joining the Hall of Fame will be industry veterans and longtime LTEN members:
- John Constantine with Orchestrall is a former LTEN Board of Directors president and an ongoing LTEN supporter.
- Mark Osborne recently retired from Novartis and had served more than 25 years on the LTEN Board of Directors, including as president.
- Carol Wells recently retired from Genentech. Carol served nearly 20 years on the LTEN board, including as president.
At the conference, LTEN will recognize the recipient of its LTEN Field Trainer Scholarship, presented by the LTEN Field Trainer Committee. The recipient will receive credits that can be used for LTEN educational opportunities and event attendance.
This year’s Field Trainer Scholarship recipient is Brenda Chapman, who led a customer engagement blueprint project for Astellas.
Finally, LTEN today is naming its 2024 Members of the Year, in both practitioner and provider categories. These top honors are awarded to LTEN members who have aided LTEN’s mission and goals with unwavering support for programs, content and events for LTEN members.
The 2024 Members of the Year are:
- Provider: Mike Ballas, global president of Red Nucleus. In addition to sponsoring LTEN activities and events, Mike is actively involved in the network. He’s written articles, spoken on and sponsored webinars and serves on LTEN committees.
- Provider: Mark Currier, director of marketing and new business for CLD. In addition to sponsoring LTEN events and publications, Mark is an active participant in the LTEN Charity Committee and is the first to volunteer to help as needed.
- Practitioner: Jeff Taylor, director of learning and development for Harmony Biotherapeutics. Jeff has written articles for LTEN Focus on Training magazine, serves on the LTEN Advisory Council and several committees and has helped drive attendance at events.
- Practitioner: Julia Taylor, associate director of commercial coaching excellence for Amgen. Julia also serves on the LTEN Advisory Council and several LTEN committees, and she is also a frequent Focus author and has brought in other authors from her team to share content.
“This has really turned out to be a banner year for LTEN recognition – everyone we’re honoring has been beyond impressive,” said Lauren Harbert, LTEN executive director. “I really have to take a moment to pat our volunteer judges on the back this year, because every nominee for every honor deserved the recognition. In a year where we expanded the awards program, we also saw an impressive number of nominees across the board.
“We had the same tough choices to make for Members of the Year, scholarship recipients and Hall of Fame inductees as well,” Harbert added. “My thanks and congratulations go to all our honorees this year – you really have made LTEN a stronger network for us all.”
